Photoartist Shoeb Faruquee
bagged the prestigious photography award from London
At a packed awards reception at the Mall Bangladesh based Photographer Shoeb Faruquee was declared overall winner of Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year 2017.
Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year is the world’s leading celebration of the art of food photography and film. Out of over 8,400 phenomenal images from over 60 countries, Shoebs stunning image “Food For God” is awarded with the overall crown in the Food for Celebration category. He shoots this photo at Rajapur Lane Baba Lokonath Dham in Chittagong.
The award was declared by Chair of the Judges, journalist and food critic, Jay Rayner along with Andy Macdonald, Head of Pink Lady® in the UK and took place in front of 450 VIP guest, many of whom had flown in from across the world for the occasion, from America, Australia, France and more.
"For many people, food is not simply for physical nourishment, it is religious or spiritual too and in Food For God image, the photographer has combined these two elements" says one of the judges, Michael Pritchard, who is chief executive of the Royal Photographic Society.
Shoeb Faruquee is the founder Director of Photobank Gallery and Photoart Institute of 6 Surson Road, Chittagong. He born in 1960 at Patiya in Chittagong and his father Meah Faruquee was a veteran politician, freedom fighter and a renowned writer. Including World Press Photo, Shoeb Faruquee bagged more than 100 international awards since he started pursuing his passion and the numbers goes on.
